The Museum Donor Network

Bridging private collections and public legacy.

Welcome to the Museum Donor Network, where curators looking for art meet collectors looking to donate, and cherished artworks find a new home.

The Network is a private message board for museums and collectors. Think of it as a matchmaker for art. When a curator finds a work that fits their collection, they send the collector a private message. The collector stays anonymous and decides whether to reply. Once the two connect, they arrange the gift themselves, and the art can inspire a new audience.

Our Process

We bridge the gap between private collections and public institutions, ensuring that art finds its rightful home in a museum while preserving the donor's anonymity and the integrity of the connection.

1. Anonymous Donor Listing

Collectors join by invitation. Once they sign up, they upload an image of each work they wish to donate, along with its relevant details.

2. Curators view artworks listing

Curators apply on behalf of their museum. Each one is vetted as a representative of a nonprofit before gaining access to the collection, which is closed to the public.

The administrator facilitates a discreet dialogue between the donor and curator, maintaining total privacy throughout the process.

3. The Match is Made

Donors stay anonymous until they choose to make themselves known to a specific curator.

Once donor and curator connect, they arrange the rest directly: appraisal, deed of gift, shipping, and tax paperwork.

Donors, please note that the IRS requires a qualified appraisal for most gifts of art valued over $5,000. Please speak with your tax advisor before you give.
